Expansion and scaling on the rise at Scandlearn

Scandlearn has become the go-to training partner for aviation organisations worldwide, and the momentum is undeniable. New customers are onboarding with us every month, drawn by the simplicity, reliability, and effectiveness of our training solutions. Our primary segments has always been the smaller operator, but as of today we have eyes from larger organisations who are showing a big interest in what we do and how we do it. A major factor driving our success is that Scandlearn offers a Competency-Based Training and Assessments (CBTA) solution that truly meets regulatory standards. After onboarding hundreds of operators and assisting them in getting their CBTA processes approved, the positive feedback from our customers, their employees, and Civil Aviation Authorities fills us with pride. It reinforces our commitment to delivering solutions that consistently exceed expectations.

Our ability to rapidly produce high-quality content, launch regulatory updates, and deliver quick course releases within our CBTA framework has set us apart.

Fresh renewed interest from regions beyond Europe has placed Scandlearn in the global spotlight, opening doors to exciting new markets. While we gradually expand in these directions, we remain committed to maintaining our strong market position in Europe. Our ability to rapidly produce high-quality content, launch regulatory updates, and deliver quick course releases within our CBTA framework—combined with the flexibility to tailor training solutions to diverse regulatory requirements—has set us apart. SOFTWARE

Reliable today. Evolving for tomorrow.

2024 has been a year of learning and reflection for our platform, Evolve. While we eagerly anticipate the launch of new features that will transform Evolve into a fully-fledged Training Management System (TMS), we remain steadfast in delivering what matters most to our clients today: reliability and simplicity.

Evolve has earned praise from many of our customers for its ability to "just work"—offering a straightforward, dependable solution that simplifies complex training needs. While some competitors may offer more feature-rich systems, they often come at the cost of unnecessary complexity or reduced stability. Evolve, by contrast, is trusted for its ease of use and unwavering performance, ensuring that clients can focus on training, not troubleshooting.

By staying true to what we do best while continuously innovating, we’re committed to delivering a platform that not only meets today’s needs but also anticipates tomorrow’s demands.

Looking ahead, we are channelling the lessons of this year into future development. Our dedicated IT team has been laying a strong foundation to support the upcoming launches that will elevate Evolve into a comprehensive TMS. With these upgrades, we’re combining the best of both worlds: retaining the simplicity and reliability our customers love, while introducing new capabilities that will redefine how training is managed.

By staying true to what we do best while continuously innovating, we’re committed to delivering a platform that not only meets today’s needs but also anticipates tomorrow’s demands.

On the other hand we have put enormous effort and resources to continue building on our Competency Based Training and Assessments (CBTA) solution.

CBTA: Data says everything

On the other hand, This year, our CBTA training library expanded significantly, yielding notable improvements in training effectiveness. Our comprehensive approach, unmatched by other CBTA solutions, has been well-received by our clients. We've also enhanced our statistical tools, enabling both us and our clients to analyse training outcomes and drive continuous improvements.

With the feedback we received last year with our Data Statistics tool we have continued to develop, allowing us to easily point out improvement strategies and tactics to better serve our customers training experiences.

COURSEWARE

Expanding the library: CBTA and Type-Related Training in focus

At Scandlearn, we know that creativity is the heartbeat of effective aviation training. Every illustration, animation, and design choice is made with care to transform complex topics into engaging, impactful learning experiences. In 2024, our creative team continued to raise the bar, paving the way for even bigger projects and innovations in the years ahead.

Here’s a look at what we’ve accomplished this year from the creative team’s perspective:

CBTA: Taking off in 2024

As mentioned earlier, CBTA truly soared this year. In 2024, we not only updated our Dangerous Goods course to comply with the latest regulations but also used insights from our statistics tool to build an even better, data-driven version of the course. I still remember telling Bertil Tensing (CEO) back in 2013, “We’re going to create the best Dangerous Goods course in the world.” At the time, it sounded like a bold joke, but today, we can proudly nod and acknowledge the incredible effort and dedication that made it a reality.

We’re going to create the best Dangerous Goods course in the world.” At the time, it sounded like a bold joke, but today, we can proudly nod and acknowledge the incredible effort and dedication that made it a reality.

Although CBTA initially gained traction through ICAO’s Dangerous Goods framework, we’re now seeing regions around the world applying and requiring it for a variety of topics. And if you didn’t already know, Scandlearn is transforming all our courseware into this framework—one course at a time. This year, our CBTA library grew significantly, becoming one of the most comprehensive in the industry. Clients continue to praise its depth, functionality, and the advanced data analytics that empower organisations to track performance and drive meaningful improvements.

CBTA is no longer just a framework; it’s a cornerstone of how we deliver impactful, world-class training.

New course releases in 2024

Additionally, we developed and launched regulatory training on GPS Jamming and Spoofing and introduced ICAO Asia region-specific training in November and December, directly addressing industry needs and upcoming regulatory changes. We’re also proud of our revamped CRM course, tailored for flight crew, cabin crew, and single pilots, with CRM Flight Crew already launched. The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to continuing this momentum into 2025.

ORGANISATION

2024: The year of light turbulence

When an organisation is on the brink of scaling, every person and resource matters—everyone has to give their all. That was the mindset we embraced as we launched into 2024, ready to tackle new challenges and opportunities. However, the year took an unexpected turn with the sudden loss of one of the most vital team members at Scandlearn, a loss that deeply affected us all both personally and professionally.

Johan 2

Honouring Johan Lundström

This year was marked by the profound loss of Johan Lundström, our beloved Head of Training, who passed away suddenly on March 8, 2024. Though Johan was with us for only a short time, his impact was immense. His dedication, passion for training, and unwavering commitment to excellence left an indelible mark on Scandlearn. His absence is deeply felt every day, as his strong leadership guided our Training Department and his insights greatly influenced our creative teams. This year has been dedicated to honouring his legacy and the significant contributions he made to our team and mission. Rest in peace, dear friend—you will always be missed.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing team

2024 brought a modest expansion to our team, and amidst the challenges of the year, we want to take a moment to recognise the incredible contributions of everyone who has made Scandlearn what it is today. With the loss of our beloved team member, we especially commend the resilience and determination of our Deputy Training Manager, Christophe Schosseler, who stepped into an immense challenge and has truly risen to the occasion with grace and strength.

To our entire team—each of you plays a vital role in our success. From those working tirelessly behind the scenes to those delivering exceptional experiences directly to our clients, every contribution matters. Whether it's through your creativity, technical expertise, dedication to customer support, or leadership, you are the heart and soul of Scandlearn. Simply saying "we appreciate you" doesn't do justice to the gratitude we feel. Together, you've made it possible to move forward through a difficult year, and we are endlessly proud of what we continue to achieve as a team.

A growing team with fresh perspectives

With new additions to our instructor, design, and creative teams, 2024 has been a year of fresh energy and innovation at Scandlearn. These talented individuals have not only elevated the quality of our training solutions but have also allowed us to take on more ambitious projects. In particular, our creative team has pushed boundaries by streamlining workflows and incorporating innovative storytelling, detailed animations, and engaging visual enhancements, transforming how complex aviation topics are taught.

Their contributions have fortified our foundation and positioned us for even greater advancements in 2025, as we continue to redefine excellence in aviation training.
